Emerging Choreographer
Moving Forward’s Emerging Choreographer position provides one choreographer the opportunity to create work with our summer intensive artists. This position is process based and gives an artist the opportunity to push their creative boundaries and experiment with able dancers within a stress-free environment.

“During my time as Moving Forward emerging choreographer, I learned how to quickly connect with new faces in order to create a new work in a short amount of time and, more importantly, how to do so in an efficient yet thoughtful manner. One of my biggest takeaways from being emerging choreographer was that it allowed me the chance to find my choreographic voice and gave me the confidence to pursue a career in choreography. It was only a few months after this opportunity that I secured my first professional choreography job! I’m very grateful to have had this program as a stepping stone into my professional career.”
